The 4 golden rules

  • Away from light — opaque bag or tinted jar in a closed cabinet
  • Dry — not near the sink, dishwasher steam, or coffee machine
  • Cool but not cold — 15-22°C is ideal, not the fridge
  • Hermetically sealed — squeeze air out before zipping the bag

Aromatic lifespan

Whole spices: 24-36 months. Ground spices: 12-18 months. Blends: 18 months. Saffron: 24 months (48 if frozen).
